Independent Lifestyles was founded in 2002 as a subsidiary of M.I.T.S of Waynesboro. Since then, the company has become an independent, stand-alone organization with it's own resources and continues to expand at a great pace. The service department has continuously improved through training of its technicians at service schools throughout the mobility industry. Maintenance and repair of all types of accessible equipment is what our clients appreciate the most. Whether purchased here or elsewhere, when something fails, it is very important to the owner to get it back in service. You won't have to wait a week to hear from us. 	Carrie Weeks has established herself as a leader in this industry. She is respected throughout the nation as a reliable, dependable and trustworthy business owner that will go the extra mile for her clients. She is the owner and main stockholder in Independent Lifestyles and she is the final decision maker. Her talents are numerous and extensive. She has been working with limited mobility individuals most of her life and has been in business for over twenty years serving the public. She and her daughter make their home in Elon
	Dave Evans joined Carrie in November 2004 and has been serving hundreds of customers since. He is constantly receiving training in use and application of equipment, technical and maintenance of lifts, vans, and power equipment. Dave has been in marketing and sales for many years and is enjoying working with the agencies and individuals to bring solutions to clients. He also handles all warranty sales, credit issues and grant monies from Federal agencies. Call and ask him about how to get started with funding or ask about the cost of a warranty on an existing van or a new one. Dave hails from Forest.
	Melody Kidd has been with Independent Lifestyles since May 2004 and continues to learn more and more about the claims from Medicare, Medicaid, and various insurance companies. She has become our expert on how to file and what to file in order to get power chairs, scooters, ramps, and mobility equipment of all sorts. She will ask for specific information when you call, so be prepared to give her details so that she can better serve you.
	Josh Midkiff re-joined the team in March 2007. He previously worked for Independent Lifestyles from May 2003 to June 2006. Josh was known before as the "do-it-all-kind-of-guy". He is currently working -in sales. He can help you find the vehicle that's right for you at the right price! He'll work with you one on-one to customize things to your needs. If you have trouble getting to us, he will be glad to come to you. Josh enjoys playing music in his spare time and lives in Altavista.
	Bernice Perkins joined our team in April 2007. She helps with invoicing, billing, rentals, answering the phone, and making sure customers in the showroom are cared for. She also files claims with medicare, medicaid, and other insurance companies. Bernice has lots of experience with customer service!! She enjoys baking cakes, pies, & other goodies!! You'll know if you've had Bernice's baking!! She lives right here in Madison Heights with her husband Donald.
	Renard Taylor has been our detailer since September 2003 and keeps our entire fleet of vans, cars and trucks ready for sale or rent. He keeps them looking nice even when the elements are tough. Renard and his family live in Madison Heights.
	Samuel McDaniel joined our team in November 2005 and is our scooter and powerchair specialist. He has mastered the lockdown and securement part of the business. Sammy attends technical training throughout the country to better understand the personal chair and scooter needs of customers. He also works on ramp systems, elevators and stairlifts, and vans. Sam, his wife, and their three kids live in Madison Heights.
	Lance Roby joined Independent Lifestyles in June of 2007. Lance services and installs most of the lifts, ramps, elevators, and stairlifts. He is our Service Manager/Certified Tech. He is very knowledgable and great to work with! He will work with you one-on-one to find out what the problem is...and fix it!! He lives locally with his Wife and two sons. In his spare time he enjoys baseball, 4-wheelin', and pickin' the guitar.

Last, but not least is the entire staff of the dozens of corporations that we use throughout the nation to help us serve you. We rely on their expertise and new and innovative products in the mobility business. We call them routinely on your behalf to solve issues with vans, scooters, power chairs, stairlifts, and other equipment. They work hand in hand with us to help keep you on the go.

We contract a large staff of drivers and maintenance personnel to pickup and deliver vehicles for repair, rental or sold units all across the Mid-Atlantic.
